1B-Teixeira
2B-Cano
3B-Rodriguez
SS-Jeter
LF-Damon

DH-Matsui

Potential Batting Order-

Teixeira
Rodriguez
Matsui
Posada
Nady
Cano
Gardner/Cabrera

Looks good enough for me.

In other news...I just found out that the Orioles and the Blue Jays left the AL East and went to the AL Central. I don't know when that happened, but it wasn't publicized well at all.

Merry Christmas

Mark Teixeira, the greatest Christmas present since CC Sabathia!

We needed him bad. If you don't think so, I'd like to know why, because I can't make any argument against him. He has good defense, he puts up great numbers. And he plays First. The Yankees need all of those things. And we got all of those things. So everything seems good.

Breaking News: Tiexiera

Buster Olney's reporting that the Yankees have signed First Baseman Mark Tiexiera.

Been A While

Well it's been A while since I've written anything, and I don't even know if anybody's reading this, but I'll write it anyway...

We got CC and A.J. That's good news. Don't say that CC's arm is tired, because it's obviously not. Everybody baby's pitchers too much. That's what they do, they pitch. CC can handle it.

I love Pettitte, but to be honest, he didn't come through for us this year. So if we don't get him, I won't be that dissapointed, because I think it's best for the team.

But we will be loaded with pitchers next year. CC, Joba, A.J., and the guy everybody forgets about, Wang. Plus Hughes and Kennedy are always an option.

It's really not looking like we'll get Tiexera. And I think we need him. More than we needed CC or A.J. Because the Yankees problem this year was their offense, not their defense.

Ok...I'll start updating more. If anything happens, that is.

News...?

I don't like the Phillies.

Looks like we probably won't get Moose back...Which is dissapointing, coming off his best year. And the way Pettitte pitched this year, I'm not really sure I want him back. I love Pettitte more than anybody, but we need guys to perform. And he didnt really do that.

I hate Arod.

Not that it matters. Just thought I'd get that back out there.

Sabathia. I think people are making way too big a deal of his innings. All of a sudden pitchers can't pitch or else they'll hurt their arms.

I was watching an interview of a pitcher from back in the day, and they asked him what his highest pitch count was, and he said '380'.

His arm is fine.

I could go on forever about Arod. Can anybody argue his case for me? Because I'll be glad to listen. But there's more to baseball than stats. He's had great stats playing for the Yankees. And where has that brought us? No where. He can't carry a team to a World Series. I don't know why, because he obviously has the talent. But as long as he is on the team, I don't think we will win.

I hope he proves me wrong. I really do. But I don't think he will...

World Series, Game 3

It went a little bit long, but I liked it.

At first I was going to root for the Rays in this series, but then I figured that since they're in our division I should be rooting against them. But it's too hard to root against these guys. It's easy to root for all the players, they have a great manager, what's not to like?

But they need to win tonight and keep the series tied or else they might be in trouble.

Offseason News

Ok...2009 will be a good year.

Potential rotation:

Sabathia
Chamberlain
Hughes
Kennedy
Pettitte

Not great, but that should be good enough to win us a lot of games.

Potential Defense

C-Posada
1B-Tiexera
2B-Cano
SS-Jeter
3B-A Rodriguez
OF-Nady, Damon, possibly Gardner or Justin Christian, or Abreu if he comes back. And there's always Melky.

Potential Batting Order.

Gardner
Damon
Jeter
Rodriguez
Tiexera
Nady
Posada
Cano
[DH]

Ok, It definitely wouldn't be in that order. But with that group of guys, how bad could we turn out?

No Playoffs

Yankees won, Boston won, Yankees go play golf, Boston goes play baseball.

Not really a good way for the Stadium to go out. But the last game there was amazing. And if you're not convinced yet, remember They're tearing it down because they're making a better one. Just watching the tape of them putting the YANKEE STADIUM up on the front and I was convinced. That new stadium is going to be amazing. I'm just sad that I never got to go to the Stadium.

Boston, Game 2

What were they doing last night? A-Rod: 0-5, 2 strikeouts, 2 double plays, and an error. I never liked him. It seems like Damon is the only one who plays with any heart these days.

Tonight, we have Ponson, who has pitched much better than expected, versus Paul Byrd, who isn't very great.

Ponson only has a 3-3 record with the Yankees, but that's deceiving. His first few starts, he had unbelievable run support. His next few, he had almost none whatsoever. His record should be much better than it is.

Mike Mussina, who's never won more than 19 games in a season, should already have 20 wins this season, and if he had good run support every start, he would. But, he doesn't. So he will have to settle for another close season.

Game at 7 tonight, if they lose this one, they're done.

August 26th, Boston, Game 1

It's the series we've all been waiting for, and it could very well decide the whole season. Yankees are swept, they're 8 games back and probably can't come back. Yankees sweep, they're 2 games back, should have some fire in them, and could very well knock Boston out of the playoffs. And face it, the only thing better than seeing the Yankees win is seeing Boston lose.

Pettitte should pitch good, as he usually pitches better in pressure/intense situations.

New York has been pounding Wakefield the last few times they've seen him, so if the bats show up, this game should turn out as a win.

It's gonna be different playing the Sox without Manny, but I can't complain...I'd rather face Jason Bay than Manny

Instant Replay

So, If your team happens to be playing the first game of a series on Thursday, don't be surprised to find out that Instant Replay will be in effect for that game.

1. The Umpires are part of the game. They say the will only use replay for fair/foul calls, but once you use it for that, why not use it for safe/out calls. And once you use it for that, why don't you just replace the umpires with a machine that calls balls and strikes? The game is great because umpires are humans, and sometimes they screw up a call, but more times than not, they get the call right. So don't mess with it.

2. We all like to see the managers argue. That's another part of the game. Don't take that away from us.

3. You can't change rules in the middle of a season. If it was the post-season, which still wouldn't make sense, it would be okay. But just picking a random day to use replay doesn't make sense.

But at least they're only using it for home run calls-so far. Hopefully it stays that way.

Yanks Sign Sexson

Unofficial still, but the Yankees and Richie Sexson have agreed to a deal. Seattle will pay almost all of his salary, the Yankees have to pay him less than $200,000. He has good numbers against lefties this year, but the catch is that he only has a small amount of at bats against them. I can't complain with it though. If he performs, that's all I want.

A little bit long?

Come on. When it's the next day before the game is over, that's a sign that the game might be going a little bit long. I quit on the game after9 innings. And you couldn't even call it that, because I was asleep on the couch before that.

Navarro was safe...Instant replay, anyone?

Rodriguez cut out as soon as he could. I'm pretty sure I saw Jeter on the field after the game.

Morneau wins Derby, Hamilton is remembered.

Lots of people have never heard of Justin Morneau. After last night, lots of people will forget Justin Morneau. Somebody needs to change the rules.

When somebody puts on a show like that, and hits that many home runs, how can he not win? Isn't the point of the Derby to hit as many home runs as you can?
